Kensington  Soccer Club

One of The 8 Best Soccer Clubs in Philadelphia

Kensington Soccer Club was established in 2010.  This was after founder and executive director Jim Hardy ,noticed the thirst the kids in the Kensington neighborhood had for soccer. He resorted to starting an affordable and accessible program that allows children to participate in organized soccer.

The club started as an afterschool program and has since grown into a year-round soccer organization that offers both competitive and recreational soccer opportunities, summer camps, after-school programs, and employment opportunities to families in the Kensington neighborhood.

Apart from the soccer program, the club conducts another program that conducts education check-ins for their youth members. It aims at encouraging them to pursue their full potential in life. They hold educational activities and provide its members with free books all year round!

Seeing that many of their players had never set foot in a college or had none of their relatives attend college, the club set to regularly take its players to college soccer showcases, to experience the atmosphere and talk to college athletes for inspiration.

It gets even more interesting,  the programs are either free or pay-as-you-can! This allows families to participate without the stress of costs. They however set an amount and trust individuals to contribute whatever they can.

You can support the club by making a donation, pledging your birthday, becoming a sustainer, donating equipment, or buying their merchandise.
