The more knowledgeable the players are with the necessity to go for rebounds, the more likely they will score with this second chance. The more rebounds a team provides in attack, the more likely it will be to win a match.
It is generally tougher for attackers to take advantage of a rebound than for defenders. At the second the ball rebounds off the post or off the goalkeeper, the defenders closer to the goal usually outnumber the attackers.

These are all of great importance and help to get the ball inside a very restricted area where there is little room and time to make a move.

This scenario is best produced by having exposure to a good variety of simple games by which real game situations appear over and over, and of course, during matches.
To achieve a good percentage of success in taking rebounds, it’s best that at least two attackers, from different angles approach. The attacker should try to cover as much range as possible and never come too close to the goalkeeper because rebounding is easier once the soccer ball drops in-front as opposed to behind the attacker.
The defenders also need to avoid clearing the soccer ball over the front of the goal since any error can become a benefit for the opposition.
